Network traffic

View receive and send rates for containers, Redis, and PostgreSQL.

Open a Container Engine or Memory Database resource's Overview, or a Relational Database resource's detail page, to see Network traffic.

  • Network Inbound shows the average rate of data received by the resource.
  • Network Outbound shows the average rate of data sent by the resource.
  • Values use bytes per second: B/s, KiB/s, MiB/s, or GiB/s.

Select the last hour, six hours, day, or seven days. Use Refresh to load the latest stored measurements; the page does not refresh automatically. Hover over a graph to inspect its timestamp and rate. Longer ranges group observations into larger intervals.

Both internal and external communication are included. These charts do not represent internet-only usage, billable usage, or a monthly transfer allowance. For resources with multiple running containers, their network counters are combined; communication between those containers can therefore appear in both receive and send measurements.

Measurements are collected approximately once per minute and retained for seven days. The chart displays a collection or no-data message until enough measurements are available. A new resource may need a few minutes before a line appears. Restarts, redeployments, stopped resources, or missed observations can leave gaps. A gap is different from a measured zero. A stale-data notice means the latest observation is no longer recent.

Viewing container and PostgreSQL network charts requires the corresponding resource read permission. Redis charts require memory_store.metrics.read. If a running resource continues to show no samples after several minutes and a manual refresh, contact support with its resource ID.
