Create a PostgreSQL database

Before you beginCopy Anchor Link

Select the intended workspace and project. The project needs an active billing account with positive, unexpired credits. Decide which application will connect to the database so you can select a compatible deployment location.

Create the resourceCopy Anchor Link

1. Open Relational Database and select Create relational database.
2. Enter a Relational database name.
3. Select an available PostgreSQL version and Region.
4. Choose a Plan and review its capacity and displayed price.
5. Review the summary and select Create relational database.
6. Open the resource after returning to the list and wait for provisioning and startup to finish.

Use the versions and plans currently offered by the Console; availability depends on the region. The database is private by default. A successful creation request does not mean it is already accepting connections.

Check the runtime status on the detail page. If the initial start fails, inspect the displayed error before using Start. Follow Connect to PostgreSQL to verify a connection.
